It’s been a while. We’ve missed you. Much to tell you so let’s get started. 

This one is so last year, but please indulge us for a moment. We do like treating our UK media so we dropped into the offices of iconic publication Time Out last November to host an afternoon of Whisky Sours and Whisky highballs with J&B Rare Hard Seltzers. 

Cue Dry January and we were back in media land, this time serving delicious mocktails to the team at award-winning Stylist magazine, using Lowlander’s 0% Wit beer – botanically brewed using discarded lemon and orange peel with the help of the Dutch charity Peel Pioneers. 

The Stylist guys sure know how to nail the perfect Instagram post and we like to think we do too. Skal handles the UK social media pages for the world’s fastest-growing premium liqueur, Licor 43, and we’ve increased their Instagram following by a whopping 112% and increased engagement for both their Instagram and Facebook pages. Those months are already flying by and it doesn’t feel so long since we ran the Kokoro gin stand at two events in the run-up to Christmas; first at Three Wine Men, a fantastic two-day showcase hosted by Oz Clarke, Tim Atkin and Olly Smith, followed by a weekend at Hampton Court promoting their original London Dry and beautiful range of liqueurs. 

We’re not just pretty faces here at Skal. We’re also a dab hand in the design department. Check out our latest work for the Angostura rum portfolio to be used across all of their markets, educating the trade and distributors on all aspects of the portfolio. We incorporated the history of the brand and the rums, the production processes, tasting notes and best practice across the On and Off trade. We also sharpened our design teeth by developing some eye- catching new assets for Amaro di Angostura to be used across multiple markets – guidelines for social media, the VERSUS cocktail competition and a global market entry document. 

And finally…drum roll please. In 2020 we’ve very excited and proud to announce that Skål will be releasing two new products under the Van Hunks brand; in April, a bottle-fermented sparkling mead (only the third of its kind in the world) and in time for Christmas a methode cap classique sparkling wine, both produced by the renowned twelfth generation South African winemaker Matthew Krone. The future’s bright….stay tuned.
